In the last few months, thousands of Afghans have come to the U.S. Dave & Denise Love (USA) write about outreach to these newcomers. “I packed our car full of food. In just one San Antonio, TX area, over 20,000 Afghans are still living on government installations waiting to be released. The need is overwhelming. It’s getting cold. Some families have little food, mattresses, blankets, pillows, furniture, or cooking supplies. Twelve children live in one small apartment with very little baby supplies.

No one spoke English. “Many mothers do not speak English. Some aren’t registering their children for school and don’t know where to go to get food. Children and young people are everywhere. Some had a glazed look; others seemed to be adjusting. Once I establish a relationship with the head of a household, Scriptures in their language will appear with the food and supplies. “Last weekend the Mormons and Catholics were on the streets. Hopefully, the churches here will awaken soon to this unprecedented historic need and opportunity!”
