He has a criminal record, is addicted to hard drugs, and is almost blind and mentally ill. Wayne & Janel Wager (USA) work with alcoholics, drug addicts, and ex-cons who struggle to get jobs. Their personalities are twisted by gangs and violence. This one has a well-paying factory job but spends much of his income on crack. Police know his history and his toxic friend’s apartment where four men died recently from an overdose. He retreats into drugs because “I’ve been labeled a menace to society. I do drugs because I’m a hopeless case and there’s nowhere for me to go. I wish Jesus would bring amazing healing. So far, I haven’t found it.” Wayne tries to help him and other men create better, drug-free lives and shares Christ with them. He has breakfast with him once a week and he attends church with Wayne. Some men tell Wayne that if it wasn’t for him, they would be either in prison or dead.
