Mawunyo (“God is good”), a 13-year-old girl in Togo, West Africa, came to a mission hospital with a serious bone infection that required amputation. Tragically, she was abandoned by her family during this hospitalization. Thankfully, Mawunyo has been able to stay at the hospital’s inpatient housing and has experienced the goodness of God through missionaries and Togolese, which have provided her with food, lodging, and clothes. She was even being tutored twice a week by a former student of the Christian School since she hadn’t attended school for the last three years. Through these difficulties, Mawunyo remains to smile, and that grin grew bigger when she could return to school. Through gracious donors of the Christian School Ministry, she receives transportation by motorcycle daily and an education that is more than academics. By providing for her physical and mental needs at the hospital, Mawunyo’s spiritual need was met. She now rejoices in her new faith and her adoption as a child of God through Jesus Christ!
