When about 70% of the population is unemployed, the local church struggles. People are not thinking about servant leadership, meeting the needs of others, or improving their surroundings when they can’t pay rent, put food on the table, or pay to take their sick child to the hospital. Seeing this need, Prince & Heidi Sabena (Uganda) have started a Ready-to-Work program in their church. The program is helping men and women to develop employable skills. They are training them to find employment, start a business, manage finances, budget, live within their means, etc. They have also established a training center to mentor 10-15 people by having them work alongside Christians who can teach them skills one-on-one.
