Ministering in some European countries can be challenging. J & J provide some insights into one country. A famous European film director and producer wrote, “You were born without purpose, you live without meaning, living is its own meaning. When you die you are extinguished. From being, you will be transformed to non-being.” This philosophy of life permeates at least one European country. An American team was shocked when 100% of surveyed students of a major European university replied “No!” to the question, “Are you interested in the Christian faith?” Even Christians have the view, “I’ll take care of me and my stuff and you take care of yours.” To share one’s faith is to impose oneself into an extremely personal sphere. Those who share their faith on social media are stigmatized. Consequently, Christians are treated poorly in this country. Two nurses who refused to perform abortions were refused employment. One moved to a neighboring country while the other commutes to that neighboring country for work. Even the lawyer who represents the two nurses is shunned.
