FIM provides resources and speakers for local church missions conferences, pulpit supply and missions strategic planning.
FIM serves as a partner with the local church, accomplishing specific tasks beyond that most churches do not deal with regularly. By focusing exclusively on missions, FIM can specialize in serving missionaries and providing them with the best possible care when they get to their place of service.
Our high regard for the local church is evident in our requirement that every missionary belongs to a Key Accountability Partner (KAP) church. This is more than just a missionary’s home church. The KAP church is the spiritual source of authority for that missionary and the work to which they have been called. FIM consults with the pastor, pastors, or designated missionary leader of every KAP church. Before a missionary can change their ministry plan or relocate to a different field, FIM requires approval from their KAP church. When missionaries face extreme challenges or have difficulties that might jeopardize their ministry, FIM consults with their KAP church.
FIM began when two local church pastors formed a team to help their missionaries serving in a foreign country. We have never lost that original identity. We remain committed to the authority and primary role of the local church in expanding the gospel worldwide.
FIM serves the missionary and the local church. Each have unique responsibilities as we proclaim the gospel together.
This document explains the responsibilities of the local church, the missionary, and FIM.
