Position Description

FIM is seeking a full-time, on-site Mission Accountant who will utilize their skills to contribute to the financial health of the organization and the well-being of its missionaries. The position requires a person who works accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with accounting standards. The Mission Accountant will regularly interact with missionaries, partnering churches, and donors.

The ideal candidate will have a salvation testimony, a desire to honor Jesus Christ in all areas of life, a heart for missionaries, a caring demeanor, a cooperative and teachable spirit, and a commitment to active service in a doctrinally sound local church.

The preferred candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance and will be proficient in Microsoft applications, accounting software, and online banking applications, with strong communication, mathematical, and analytical skills and a propensity for detail. 

You will serve the mission in various areas, including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, work project accounting, online banking, payroll and employee benefits accounting and administration, donor management, expense reporting, missionary support accounting, internal auditing, and financial analysis.

FIM is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the heart of the Lehigh Valley—one hour north of Philadelphia and two hours from Manhattan and the Jersey shore. The Lehigh Valley offers many thriving local churches, six area universities, numerous cultural events, local and state parks, and convenient access to major cities, beaches, and mountains.
