Being called by the Lord to share the gospel of Jesus Christ on the mission field is one thing. Getting there is something else. There are many “hoops to jump through:” get prayer backing, do support discovery, and finally say good-bye. But when missionaries arrive in the country, the desire is to get involved in ministry. However, it usually takes a minimum of one year for the missionary to acculturate and learn the language. Austin & Jacinda Davis (Brazil) arrived in Brazil in August last year. Austin is learning Portuguese and the culture. Jacinda has fewer hoops to jump through because she is a missionary kid from Brazil. Pray for the Davis family and other missionaries adjusting to life in a different country.
