The sewing machine was to be delivered to an Afghan refugee at a certain San Antonio, TX address. Dave & Denise Love (USA) found the building but were unsure which apartment. A teenage boy stepped up and said, “I see you brought a sewing machine for my mother.” The Loves thought it might be the right apartment. They gave the machine to the mother of five and had a nice visit. She served a sweet, cold drink common during Ramadan and invited the Loves to come again. It wasn’t the right address. It was the home of the neighborhood Imam who opposed their ministry, often yelling at the children to stop talking with the heretics. The Loves wrote, “As God would have it, we blessed his wife with a valuable gift. We’ll see how that goes.” As they drove away, they received a text message from another family telling them of their mistake, giving the sewing machine to the wrong family. The Loves apologized and promised to return with one for the correct family. The next day they were invited to share their stories with retired Christians. Soon they had funds to purchase 12 sewing machines and 13 sets of sewing kits, one for each machine…including the Imam’s wife!
