We don’t like detours. They are inconvenient and slow us down. We can’t always see that it is the best route.

Missionaries may also run into unexpected detours. Candy Surrett joined FIM in 2012 to go to Peru. Then her teenage daughter was seriously injured in an accident. Six years later, in August, she was finally able to begin ministry in Peru!

Candy seeks to evangelize and disciple women through parenting classes, assisting women who experience emotional loss and hardships, developing young women for leadership roles, educating teenage girls to prevent unplanned pregnancies, and family counseling.
