Doctrine
Success in living the Christian life and serving the Lord is determined largely by what we believe. This is true generally but is certainly true of missionary life and service. For this reason, those who serve under Fellowship International Mission are asked to indicate their acceptance of the Doctrinal Statement and to reaffirm their agreement annually.
Fellowship International Mission holds to a Statement of Faith consistent with the fundamentals of Christianity as historically understood. We believe that an emphasis on certain doctrinal distinctives allows our missionaries and partners to work together effectively and in harmony.
For example, Fellowship International is non-charismatic. We believe that a Christian is baptized by and with the Holy Spirit at conversion. This is a once only act of God and is separate from the continual filling of the Holy Spirit which is essential for Godly life and ministry. Sign gifts such as tongues and healing do not exist today, as biblically defined.
Further, Fellowship International is dispensational in its interpretation of the Bible and in its understanding of God's unfolding plan for the ages. Thus we see Israel and the Church as distinct entities. It also means that we are pretribulational and premillennial in our understanding of end time events.
We also stand firmly against the ecumenical movement and other movements that are contrary to the faith. Fellowship International leaders and missionaries sign the Statement of Faith each year.
